Early Learning Academy

NOW ENROLLING BEGINNING IN PREK3!!!

Philmore's Early Learning Academy (PreK3-K5) program provides a developmentally appropriate curriculum which fosters an integrated approach to learning. Working to reach each learner’s stage of development, the curriculum is presented in weekly, thematic units centering around a letter of the week. The interdisciplinary units include fundamental skills in the areas of literacy, math, social studies, science, art, music, and personal social development. 


As part of a Science and Arts school, our Preschool and Kindergarten program provides enriching experiences within and beyond the classroom.  Several field trips throughout the year provide learning outside the of the Philmore School for Science & Arts campus.  Science and the Arts are cultivated in the learning daily through hands-on experiences in learning.  

Students must be three years old by September 30th of the matriculation year and potty trained in order to be considered for enrollment in the K3 class.

In Philmore Academy Early Learning Academy students’ creativity knows no limits. Our scholars are scientists, engineers, mathematicians, poets, artists, and builders. We celebrate those strengths while addressing individual learning needs throughout each school day. We value each child and their unique learning and personality profile.

 

We believe that elementary aged children need plenty of time to play, ample time to move, and specialized teaching as they navigate an academic curriculum. We believe in community and relationship building, using these strong bonds to help students better understand their own personal and academic development. Students experience a full school day of reading, language arts, math, science, social studies, art, music, and PE. With our ratio  of 13:1, our small classes provide opportunities for students to actively participate in their own learning  All students, even the youngest, participate in their own conferences twice a year. Our teachers build relationships with all of their students know their students well and engage them in critical reflection of their work.

  • Visual Arts
